Charlestown is famous for its collection of tall ships riding at anchor in the harbour, the shipwreck museum, excellent pubs and restaurants and easy access to the coastal path – It really is the perfect holiday destination.

It has even been used as a filming location, most well known for appearing in Poldark, but also for BBC 1 Series; Taboo, and films such as Alice in Wonderland, Rebecca, and Treasure Island.

The area is rich in golf courses with Carlyon Bay and Porthpean close by. Ladies, whilst waiting for your man to finish his round, make the most of the divine spa facilities at Carlyon Bay; a real treat.
The picturesque fishing village of Mevagissey which has been featured recently on Rick Steins’ Cornwall TV program, is just a 20 minutes’ drive away by car, while the Lost Gardens of Heligan, several stately homes and gardens and the fabulous Eden Project are all within 5 miles.

Dubbed the Eighth Wonder of the World by some, Eden is not only a fascinating location, but, more importantly, a fun and family-friendly day out

Curious kids can discover where tea, rubber and sugar come from, and travel the world to the simulated environments of tropical destinations that they dream of traveling to in the future. There are themed events throughout the seasons, workshops for adults and children, activity days, music concerts and much more, including Ice Skating in the Biomes during the Winter months.

For another day of exploration, step back in time and lose yourself in Europe’s largest garden restoration; a world of romance, heritage and adventure, at The Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Rope bridges, bamboo gardens, The Giant’s Head, and Maori-carved tree ferns and all wait to be discovered, allowing imaginations, big and small, to run wild.

    • This is a very special property and location. The facilities are superb and the ‘decor’ is just lovely. The attention to detail in the house was sensational. We had a superb stay and have booked again – twice!

    • What more can I say, beautiful property, beautiful location, fantastic hosts. We would love to have stayed for longer but had to return for work.

      Pete K

    • We only had one night at Harbour Lights but it was spectacular. Lovely touches on arrival, we got straight into the scones and the champagne not long after! Dinner then a stroll to the pub, and back to enjoy the hot tub with clear skies and shooting stars. We hopped into the bubble bath before finally curling up in front of the fire and a film – fair to say we made the most of it! Incredibly comfy bed too and very wide – I almost got lost trying to get out 😂

      Anna K

    • I think Harbour Lights is absolutely stunning – the location, the attention to detail of the interior and the views to die for. We had one small problem which was quickly rectified. If you have a special occasion to celebrate then this is the place to stay.

    • From start to finish our stay was just perfect. The communication from Charlotte was great and very helpful, and check in was very easy with the housekeeper even putting our champagne in the fridge early for us! The house is incredible, and the views are amazing. The house has everything you need and the little touches like the scones and doggy bag were lovely. The location is also perfect, close to all the little bars and and restaurants in Charlestown. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will 100% be back!!
