We’d love to share with you some of our favourite things to do locally, in the village and beyond… Some things that you won’t find in any tourist brochures!!
One of the biggest draws of Porth is its beautiful beach, which is perfect for families, sun-seekers, and watersports enthusiasts alike. With its gently sloping sands and calm waters, it’s ideal for swimming, paddling, and rock pooling at low tide. The beach is also home to Porth Island, a scenic headland accessible via a footbridge, offering breathtaking coastal views and a glimpse into Cornwall’s rich history with its ancient cliffside settlements.
Porth’s prime location makes it an excellent base for a staycation in Cornwall. It’s close to Newquay’s famous surf beaches, vibrant nightlife, and attractions like the Blue Reef Aquarium and Newquay Zoo, yet it retains a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere. The South West Coast Path runs through Porth, making it a dream spot for walkers looking to explore dramatic clifftop scenery and hidden coves.
For food lovers, the area boasts fantastic beachfront cafés and pubs, serving fresh seafood and traditional Cornish cream teas with stunning sea views. Plus, with easy access to other top destinations like Watergate Bay, Padstow, and the Eden Project, Porth is the perfect place to experience Cornwall’s incredible coastline, culture, and cuisine—all while enjoying a restful seaside retreat.
